The warm sun shone through the large clean windows shining on my face melting away some of the nervousness like a stroke of serendipity.
I move in line and the sun disappears from my view. I'm nervous again. Standing in line waiting in line to go on the Hurricane at the Wisconsin Dells is very pressuring.
I lower myself into the yellow four-leaf clover-shaped raft. The cool water surprises my skin. I peer down the dark tube and shiver. I feel a jolt and the lifeguard pushes us down into the dark, haunting green tube before me.
The raft swiftly takes a few small curves in dim green light.
"Hey this isn't that bad, and look, we're coming into the light" I say as the light at the end of the tube gets closer.
"Ahhhhhh!" I scream as loud as I can. So loud I bet everyone at the top of the slide can hear me screaming. We're dropping down and down into what seems like an abyss. Thump!
We swiftly land and slosh on the wall. (More screaming.) I think we're going to hit the ceiling the sloshing goes so high. But, we don't. We slosh a few more times before popping out of the green tube and into open fresh air.
"Ahhhh, glad that's over with", I think.
"Your eyes looked like saucers" my mom says.
"Cool", I say and laugh. "Let's go in the hot tub now."
