Carly's Poetry 2007 - 2009

2007

I was alone until you came along
I did not know what to do without you
Just sitting in the gloom

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

If I could see the ocean, if I could see the sea
If I could see the ocean, who could love me?

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

For the water is rushing past the boats. "Ahoy"
For the candy in the children's pockets. There is no more.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Smelly, smelly skunk
He eats a bunch of junk
Stomps his feet and lifts his tail
Oh no, what a smelly smell!

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

You are mine
and I am yours
and that's the way it is.
With a whistle and a clap
we'll be together
and that's the way it is.

2009

Snowflakes glide through the air
They flit and float landing in my hair
They gently drift to the ground
And pile up in a soft, white mound.
