This story was written by Gillie in second grade.
One day I woke up and got dressed. I felt weird so I looked in the mirror and I was a frog! I hopped downstairs and ate a breakfast of fly pancakes. Then I got on my coat and my backpack and hopped to school
"Ribbit", I say to my friends. Then the bell rings and we go inside.
I say "ribbit" to Mr. Hodgson and hang up my coat and backpack. Then we start with "centers" after we do the news and our work we go out for recess.
I played jump rope with my friends. And they also had turned into frogs. Almost every kid was a frog. Then we went inside. I had flies for a snack.
At math time, Mr. Hodgson said "Gillie, what is 4 plus 6?"
"Ribbit," I say.
"Correct," he said. It was a good thing we could understand frog.
Then we had play time.
After that we went to P.E. We played hopscotch and bouncy-ball. Then it was the end of school so everyone did their jobs. When I was done doing the calendar, I looked at Eddie. It was a good thing Eddie didn't turn into a frog. Then everyone went home.
That night, I wondered if I would be a frog tomorrow. The next morning I woke up and I was not a frog any more!
