Hannah Horse

This story was written by Gillie in second grade.

Hannah Horse had always dreamed of going to the moon. Her friend, Cate, the barn cat, thought she was being silly. But then one day Hannah said "bye Cate, I'm building a rocket and going to the moon."

"Well, then," said Cate, "I guess I'll give you this." It was a camera.

The next day, Hannah got all her supplies and built a rocket. Then, she filled it with her stuff. "Good bye, Cate. I'll take pictures".

Hannah started the countdown. 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, blast off! The hay-powered rocket took off.

Pretty soon she was in space. Hannah looked out the window. She missed Cate. Then she saw it -- the moon! Finally, she landed.

She went out of the rocket and tried to run. She zoomed. This is the perfect place to have a race. Then she took out her camera from Cate and took some pictures.

Hannah decided to bring all the race horses to the moon for a big race. The next day, Hannah went back to Earth and brought back all the race horses. And Cate. Then it was time for the race.

The horses shot like rockets! The winning horse got a big moon rock. The others got smaller rocks. Cate got her camera from Hannah and took pictures of all the horses. Then they all climbed into the hay-powered rocket and took off. When they landed they all went back to the barn and had snacks. Then Hannah and Cate went to the camera store and got the pictures developed. Back at the barn, they hung up the space pictures.

Hannah Horse's dream had finally come true and she still has her moon rock to this day.
